Talking About Plumbing Services

Hello, my name is Isaac Woldile. I am going to use this site to talk about plumber services of all kinds. Plumbers keep the unseen components in perfect condition to prevent catastrophic failures. When the plumbing fails, the results can be so bad that they drive you out of your home. When the sewer lines backed up in my home, the sheer amount of water and sewage flowing into my home was astonishing. I was displaced for months as workers attempted to clean it all up. From that point on, I proactively called in plumbers at the slightest hint of a problem. I will detail signs and symptoms that indicate the need of a plumber. I will also talk about techniques and tools plumbers used to make the repairs. Thanks for visiting.

Tired of Low Water Pressure? 3 Potential Ways to Fix This Problem

If you're tired of living in a house with low water pressure, you may want to hire a plumber to fix the problem. Before it can be fixed, the plumber will have to determine what is causing the pressure to be too low. There are several different common causes of low water pressure, and once the problem is detected the plumber will know exactly how to fix it. Here are three of the potential problems and remedies for the low water pressure in your house.

Mineral Buildup

When water is hard, it contains minerals, which can end up sticking to the insides of the pipes over time. While it is normal for pipes to contain a little bit of mineral buildup, too much buildup can lead to problems with water pressure.

As the minerals cling to the pipes, they can eventually cause a restriction of water flow, because the minerals cause the pipes to become narrower. This can affect the water pressure in your house, and the only way you can really tell is to look inside some of the pipes.

If a plumber removes the connections on some of your pipes, he or she can inspect the insides of them. This will reveal if the pipes are clogged from minerals. This inspection can also reveal if the lines are clogged from corrosion of the pipes. If they are, the only possible way to fix the problem is to replace the pipes. You cannot clean all this buildup out of your pipes; they must be removed.

This can be a big job, though, and it can be expensive. Because of this, your plumber may recommend replacing only the lines that are easy to get to. This could involve lines found in your basement or crawlspace ceiling, or it could be lines found in other areas that are easy to access.

Low Pressure to Your House

Whether you have a well or are on a city water system, there should be a certain amount of pressure in the water entering your house. If the pressure level of the water is too low, this could be the cause of your low water pressure in your sinks. A good pressure level is around 60 pounds per square inch (psi). If it is less than this, you will have trouble getting enough water pressure. If it is more than this, it could cause your pipes to burst, because it is too high.

The pressure of your water is controlled by a pressure regulator, which is a switch found on or near your water pump. Pressure regulators can be adjusted to increase or decrease pressure in water, but they can also wear out. If your pressure regulator is not working, a plumber may suggest replacing it. Once replaced, the plumber might be able to adjust it to increase the amount of pressure found in your water lines.

Plumbing Leaks

A third cause of low water pressure is often due to plumbing leaks. When water travels through the pipes to reach your faucets, a leak in the line will reduce the pressure. As water leaks, less water gets to your faucet, and this can lead to poor water pressure.

Water leaks can occur from old, worn-out pipes or from loose connections with the pipes, but the only way to fix this problem is replacing the leaky pipes. The hardest part is locating the leaks, because leaks are often very small. A small leak will not usually leave water puddles in a house, but it will leave water in the walls.

Any type of plumbing problem can result in low water pressure, but a plumber will be able to diagnose the problem and fix it. If you would like to learn more about this, contact local resources like The Pleasant Plumber plumbing services.
